I really want to get back into Visual kei
I used to be such a hardcore vkei-er, man...high school was bearable thanks to the mixed CDs in my player, the bandmember picture printouts in my binder, the discected/translated lyrics smushed in my bookbag. I even had handmade vkei band patches on said bag.
So what happened? People change, but me, I didn't. All my best bands just died one after the next, including, but not limited to: Baroque, cali =/= gari, Vanilla, Gullet, Fatima, Deadman, Shulla, Kagerou. Even Dir en grey's died in a way--the Diru sound I used to love, at least. Aaaaand, my love for D died at a live of theirs; their para-para upset'd me somethin' awful :(
Anyone who knows me knows that I don't much care for the actually popular(they're even high up on the charts which is remarkable; in Japan, people hate vkeis like we hate emos) bands like The Gazette and Nightmare. Why is mainstream visual kei so empty? Not lyric-wise. It's just...missing something. Falls short of an exceptional sound. I actually quite like "mainstream" rock here. Though this could just be my silly opinion, how could the rockbands that get popular here actually be good, but the ones who make it in Japan, not? Is that just another ghey "culture difference"? That gets a big DONOTWANT from me, meng. o(.__. )
I don't want to think vkei is dead. I mean, genres don't really die, do they? Maybe they just go into recession...MUCH LIKE OUR AWFUL ECONOMY RIGHT NOW D:
I hope it picks back up. Vkei, as well as the US economy..
Bands left that I like are down to muCC, D'espairs Ray, Merry, Sugar, the studs, Suicide Ali(though Goshi needs to improve his singing in lives), emmuree(in case you're wondering, that's "ohn-mew-reh", with a French r sound :3 )
Anyone want to recommend any good bands? No oshare-kei plz. They are newfags. And should die :<
When I go back to Japan, I'll even go to lives more often. :3
This was a little different from my usual blog, wannit? More about what's going on in my head rather than in my life. Butttt the next one will be back to normal. Most likely talking about my plans when I go back to Japan, etc. God, I really miss a lot of things there. I can't wait to go back. Ironic, huh?
