its Seattle wet happens!

so the morning was started at about 12:30 this morning by the land lord wakeing me up and telling us somehting important.no I cant remember at the moment what it was but it got us up and out of bed. walking out of your house after you have only had a couple hours at most of sleep is sucky enough but water water every were and no where to go is freaking lame a that hour. I suppose its lame at any hour but that early it felt especially so. after much worrying and wandering around watching the river rise we were told not to worry that it wasn't going to get any higher and the cars were safe and dry. being told repeatedly to stop worrying gets old after a wile so I took my ass back to bed...err well we kicked Syd out of her bed and took a nap. well I tried to sleep but failed. at about 7 we got rousted out of the nice warm bed because the land lord had to shut off the power because the water was to deep in his house and was unsafe. this is funny to me really because we had shut the breakers to my house off earlier in the morning. there was 2-4 inches in his house when he shut the power off. when I went down to my place to get some clothes that weren't wet there was about 2 ft of sewage filled water in my house. with the power being off it was decided that being wet and stinky and cold was way to retarded to deal with. Trav was out helping to move vehicles yet again out of the path of a pissy river. it turned out that the cars had to be pulled out to a dryer location where hopefully they will start in a few days or they open the roads and we can get home.Shels car was console deep and they don't think its going to be savable. I was out trying to wrap my head around how bad it had gotten in the 2 hours I had been snuggled warm in a bed when I see travis struggling to get back to the house from the end og the drive way. the water was waste deep on him. there was a bit of arguing and a boat trip back to dry land. I do have to say that bored people during a crisis are really handy to have around. we caught a boat from the front door to a dryer section of road so we could hike the trails out to a point that we could catch a ride out. it turned out there wasnt much hiking involved. I guess seeing us sopping wet and walking down the road was enough to have the same neighbor who had pulled our cars out of the water an hour or so earlier a reason to take a spin on the ATVs. he gave us all a lift down the trail to we wernt walking over a mile in wet clothes and carying what we could carry and pack in the short time we had to get out wile we could. we were picked up by some very nice people who gave us showers and food before sending us off to where we are now. Im sitting in a business that is owned by my land lords kids waiting on a ride to the next stop in my adventure. my car has been damaged and I dont know if its going to be fixable. my house is beyond repair Im sure. with the damage done to the building on the property I think my house is the last on the list to be fixed. all my stuff is ruined. I guess after stewing for more than a day of sewage filled water there isnt much that can be saved from it. I have no house and all but a couple changes of clothes is stewing in the river soup. I have no clue what if anything is going to be savable out of the lot that I own as a whole. Im hoping my insurance will cover damage to my car and that I wont end up without some way to get to work for to long. with the week I just missed being snowed in Im sure my boss is not thrilled about hearing that Im calling in once again unable to show up to work. the lesson of the week is that 75 inches of snow under the 13.4 inches of rain we have gotten in the last 48 hrs is a recipe for wet, stinky and slightly lost. I dont know when Ill have access to a comp again so send good thoughts my way.
