(no subject)
Hey guys.
Just a quick update because I'm in a computer lab on a borrowed login right now. I haven't had much internet access at home because C. has been using it to work on her dissertation.
London is turning me into a chump. I've been looking for work and because this city is so conservative that has meant that I had to pay for a haircut for the first time in four years, that I trimmed my beard, that I now wear khakis with tucked in shirts, and worst of all, that I'm seriously considering getting a mobile phone because it would make my life much more convenient. And because this city is so ridiculously expensive, I don't think that it would be the smartest idea (not that I have ever gone for "smart ideas") to try to find some sort of slacker job in a bookstore or record store. I could always try the bar scene, but people don't really tip here so I'm not sure how good of an option that really is.
Basically, all of this means that I should leave this city before I turn into a complete asshole. By that, I mean the kind that wears a shirt and tie, not the kind that I am now. I've been doing some research into Glasgow and I think I'll probably move there sometime soon. The rent there is a lot cheaper than it is here and I should still be able to find work there. The music there doesn't look so shabby either. I'm going to be in Germany/Eastern Europe at the start of September, so I'll probably move after I get back from there.
I'll try to keep this thing updated more regularly. I hope that all is well with you folks.
