When am I going to learn to stop tempting fate?!
Last night, while we were eating dinner and watching the news, I mentioned to Florenci how it was going to be nice to be in England for a week and get away from all of the football hype we have here at the moment.
He looked at me as though I'd just grown a second head and said, "Ummm...football....England....?!"
I pointed out to him that, yes, I was perfectly aware of the football situation in England but what I'd meant was that at least it'd be different teams for a change, instead of Barça! Barça! Barça!
Two seconds later (I kid you not), the sports news came on and included a report about the upcoming Wednesday match between Arsenal and...BARÇA!!!!!
They're even playing in London!!!
You'd think I'd learn... :D
Still, the worst case scenario is that sarahdotcom (who has kindly offered me somewhere to crash for a couple of nights) is not only a football watcher but also an Arsenal fan and will be glued to the game. But, even if that turns out to be the case, I happen to know that she owns a copy of Terry Pratchett's latest book, so I can always curl up in a corner with that. ;D
Speaking of the trip, this weekend will consist of house tidying, last minute trip preparation and some financial planning to ensure that neither Florenci (with the kids and then off on a trip to Northern Catalonia - Southern France, to the rest of the world) or I (in England) blow the budget over Easter!
Most importantly of all - the sun is shining and the entire weekend is supposed to be gorgeous. After a week of temperate but depressingly grey days, this is a blessing. :)
