iPod
This would be a poll if I had a paid account but I haven't, so...
Do you guys think it's still worth getting an iPod?
Bear the following in mind, when you answer:
* I know they're going out of fashion and I hear they're not going to make any new models now but I'm not a 'gotta have all the latest bells and whistles' kind of person anyway. I'm still irritated by the fact that I can't find a mobile phone that only makes/receives calls and texts and stores phone numbers.
So lack of updatability is not an issue for me - if I buy a machine that does what I want, I'm happy.
* I'm an ongoing language learner, so in addition to wanting an mp3 player, I would love to be able to make use of podcasts and such, for languages.
I suppose what I'm worried about is that people will stop producing material that can be used with an iPod, as they go out of fashion. There are already a multitude of other brands that are producing the same kind of machine and I don't want to fork out over 100€, only to discover that there's no longer anything out there that can be used on an iPod/with iTunes.
139€ (which is the cheapest I've found) is too much to pay for something that is just a music player!!!
And while I'm on this subject, for those of you in the know, what exactly is the difference between the different types of iPod? I'll probably look this up on Wikipedia anyway but personal opinions/experiences are most welcome.
