Five Dates for Grady and Kat

5) He held her hand as they walked between the habitats. She'd never been to a zoo, even though they'd snuck into their fair share of animal sanctuaries. He was in San Diego and knowing that they had the best zoo, he'd called to her. Now they walked, hand in hand, toward the Giant Panda Research Station. There was a cub there and he wanted to show it to her. Once they were inside and had worked their way through the crowd, she giggled when she saw the baby. She squeezed his hand and pointed, so delighted that he had brought her.

4) Las Vegas, Sin City, he was there for a card game. And he was winning. He called to her and she arrived in a sparkling evening gown, a wonderful match to his tuxedo. She stood behind him and whispered in his ear as her hand slid down his chest. After the current hand, he collected his chips and cashed them in. They had Cirque de Soleil tickets, in the front row. She had been begging him, for weeks, to take her to the circus. And nothing was too good for his betrothed.

3) She wanted to play chase and had worked very hard to talk him into it. Her slip and fall had scared him and he was worried that she would do it again. After promising and promising that she would be careful, he gave in. They turned it into a game of hide and seek, that they both knew he would win. They played all afternoon and she never once fell.

She sprawled out in the grass and he flopped down next to her. Purring loudly, he laid on his back and she laid with her head on his chest, listening to the purr and his heartbeat as the sun went down.

2) It was a day cruise in Grand Cayman. It was an anniversary surprise and he had actually managed to keep it from her. The catamaran was all theirs, they only had a guide/captain with them. As afternoon waned into evening, they laid together on the canvas that ran between the hulls. She had her arms wrapped tightly around him, her fear of falling in still having not quite passed, despite the fact that she was tethered to the boat. He pressed his lips to her ear and whispered how much he loved her.

1) He cooked. He never cooked. But he had done it for her. Tonight they were going to play and he had all the toys laid out on the bed. But first, he was going to treat her like a princess. He was dressed casually and made her he had the meal on the table before he called to her.

He fed her every bite, catering to everything she needed. She was surprised, but did not question anything. After they had eaten and made love on the couch, he took her into the bedroom. The smile spread across her face as understanding dawned on her.

Afterwards, as he held her in the tub, she cried against his shoulder and he kissed her hair. He told her how much her trust meant to him and how much he loved her. They slept tangled in each other, her back exposed to allow her open wounds to air properly.
