A little update

Oh for crying out loud! What is up with the lack of attention in class? I had students coming up to me wondering what factoring is. Where the -hell- were they last week when I was teaching it? In the back of the class making snide comments, that's where! Imbeciles. If they decide to remain the mathematically-deficient morons that they are, they are welcome to that state of ignorance. However, I would very much appreciate it if they would keep their puerile minds away from mine. I'm thinking somewhere in the vicinity of a light year or two away. Preferably somewhere in the next galaxy over or something. It is one thing to be deliquent in class. It is quite another thing to be delinquent and place the blame on somebody else. I would like to note that I was exceedingly polite to them. In fact, I referred them to the tutoring centre on campus. Idiots. If they spent as much time on their homework as they do on mascara and video games, they would be passing the class.

I had dinner with Karl and Marton some time this week. I don't remember the day, exactly, but I'm pretty certain it happened this week. Marton is a wonderful cook! And he makes the most divine New York Cheesecake. I was quite impressed, as I can't quite figure out how to make one successfully. We agreed to exchange cheesecake recipes via email, and I've emailed him my chocolate cheesecake recipe.

Marton was really interested in chaos theory and game theory. I should probably go and look up some non-mathematical books on the subjects that he can read. They are so fascinating that I wish I could explain them better without resorting to integrals and derivatives and iterations. This reminds me of the Timothy Ferris book and the Stephen Hawking one that I have to read. I've had them for quite a while now, and I really should read them. I heard that they are good.

Plant update: Jasmine is doing well right now. She looked downright -lush- after her sojourn at Marton's. I've been pretty good about watering her and all that, and she does smell very nice in the kitchen.
