I love how their both are trying to hide their feelings/crush for each other but not really hiding them. If that makes sense. Reid by backing down from an argument/discussion with Luke because he knows, as shown later in this chapter, that if it wasn't for that cell phone going off, that Reid would've done something that he wouldn't necessarily regret, but would hinder the case he's working on. And the attraction he's feeling for Luke is already making it hard for him to stay focus. And Luke making sure that he knew everything he needed to know for that day's reading so Reid would think him of his intelligent and worthwhile. And I agree with Luke. That this crush is something to distract him from Noah and Ameera. But I think he'll be a little turned around when this crush becomes something more. And stopping Reid and telling him how he's enjoying their readings in class. Luke being that open in class. I was a little shocked. But I think it's his way of maybe opening up to Reid without arousing suspicions that he has a crush on his ( ... )

First, of all, thank you. You always leave insightful and thorough comments, which I enjoy reading immensely.

I think you're right, they're trying to hide their reactions to each other, but not very well--especially with Casey. :-) This attraction to Luke is throwing him for a loop. He's an agent, first, last and always, then he meets Luke and all of that goes out the window, so he's trying to get back to himself. Luke opening up in class, it might come out later, but class is an escape for him and foster that crush, making it grow helps that. Stopping Reid is a knee-jerk reaction and he just blurts it out. Noah, don't know what to say. He's struggling but not able to help Luke. Luke and Reid's conversations...the aim was interesting, so I hope that comes through. Thanks. ~Ali

Is Noah really that naive? "Do you think this is my fault?" and "Luke, I asked you repeatedly if you were okay with me marrying Ameera." Like, really? I don't care what he may have said or tried to act like (and let's be honest here, Luke wears his feelings on his sleeve) there is no way in hell anybody would be okay if the person they loved married someone else, no matter that situation. And the 'do you think this is my fault' thing. Someone needs to yell in Noah's face "YOU MARRIED ANOTHER PERSON!" Yeah, it's partly your fault. A lot your fault ( ... )

Noah...what can I say? I think you covered it actually. But he didn't really know any better. He thought he was helping Ameera and Luke agreed to help, because he didn't want to send her back to Iraq. But I guess he expects everything to go on hold and then they can go back.

Yeah, it was bad writing and it was a difficult storyline. I even liked Tala (who played Ameera) but the whole thing was awful. But now there's Reid.

Glad I've been able to carry over the sexual tension. Yeah, Luke enjoy the crush. It's fine. And I've never had a crush on a prof, but I think we've been in Luke's position before. Acting on it? Certainly a possibility.

Thank you for the feedback and enthusiastic response. It's great to read. ~Ali

Do you think this is my fault ? No genius of course not, it couldn't possibly be your fault seeing as YOU are the one who DECIDED to marry ameera without consulting me and then BEGGED me to go along with it because it was the right thing to do. and in doing so ASKED me to lie about my feelings for you, and get my family to lie for you too out of some misguided sense of obligation...but no it's not your fault at all ( ... )

Yes, Noah's question, about being all his fault seems to have hit the mark with many readers. You response as Luke is pretty good, though.

Thank you for your lovely and thorough comments.

The classroom scene was fun to write, and really the intensity I think comes from who Reid and Luke are. They're trying to deny it: Reid has his case and Luke has Noah, but I don't think they can. I think Luke's feelings for Reid are different than those for Noah. Noah was the first love and Reid was more of an adult love.

This storyline was one I hated as well, especially because of all the bad choices they had Noah do, so I'm trying to make up for some of that.

Reid is definitely curious about where things are going with Luke and Noah. And his attraction is unexpected but definitely unstoppable.

Thank you! ~Ali

Poor Luke! And ooh that scene between Luke and Reid was intense!
Now I'm wondering though who's advisor Reid will be!
Casey crossed his arms over his chest. “Luke, come on, this is me. If you can’t tell your fake boyfriend, who can you tell?” I loved this sentence :)

Luke, unfortunately was in a bit of a bad place for a while. Who will Reid advise? Hmm...

Writing Casey in this was a bit of fun, I have to admit. :) Thank you. ~Ali
