Okay--My essays on the CBEST totally kicked ass. I had to write one about one thing I would change in the US educational system, and so I attacked the dumbing down of the profession of teaching, and used teh CBEST as an example. Not only was it inflammatory, but it was well-organized with thoughtful explicit examples (though my portfolio reader might not think so). The second one was an assinine topic, discussing how every cloud has a silver lining, so describe a negative situation in your life that turned out to have a positive impact. Ugh. So 7th grade.
