SUMMER 2011 FINALLY BEGINS

May 07, 2011 20:31

After being tortured to death during the examination period, I'm so glad it's all overrrrrrrr & summer is here. To be honest, I'll be extremely glad if I manage to average a B+ for my 4 core mods, sigh. AHH WELL, what's done is done & cannot be undone.

My summer will only begin officially on 1st June as I'm currently interning/working at Tiffany & Company in preparation for the Tiffany showcase for the Audi Fashion Festival on the 16th of May & the dinner for the top 50 clients at St Regis. All these rich people will be waltzing around me hahahahaha but looking at how much they spend of luxury products like diamonds and gems, I really wonder about the income gap. Like how is it possible they can just shell out $100,000 in one spending, I just can't seem to wrap my brain around that... And I saw this man's receipt: $3 million. Just like that, on diamonds and etc, WOW.

Had a personal tour around the store that day & I was showed the most popular types of diamonds, the engagement rings. HAHA cousin joked that I'll be in that section when my time comes to get hitched LOL. But it's madness, for a 1 carat ring of top notch quality, you'll have to pay at least $20K. HAHA. So I said "AHAHA, NO MONEY LA!". But I really can see the difference between a T&Co diamond and other brands. It's definitely sparklier and the 6-prong setting is absolutely to die for. But of course, there are lots of diamond wastage to cut the diamonds to such precision. Omg I'm speaking like a brainwashed person, but standing around the 2nd floor with sparkly diamonds surrounding you is really an experience on its own. And the yellow diamonds are SO GORGEOUS. I think it's more modern, but the solitaires are still the best. Tiffany & Co trivia: Did you know that Tiffany's started the concept of engagement rings? Prior to the 6-prong setting, there was no such thing as engagement rings. So yes, guys should thank Tiffany's for making their lives so much more expensive ;)

Okay work stuff aside, I'm really trying to maximize my time, meeting people after work, but it's difficult to squeeze in meet ups when I have to sleep early & wake up early to get ready for work. Studying is definitely more relaxing, it's your own time, own target. But at work, you start at a certain time, leave at a certain time or later, & you're answerable to your bosses. But I'm enjoying my work so far! Next week will be model castings and come the fashion show, I'll be backstage, dressing & cueing the models onto the runway! SO JENNY HUMPHREY LOL. But it's gonna be so much fun! Vera Wang dresses, Tiffany's statement pieces from their world-class designers & rich front row audience heh heh. High rollers, yo!

OKAY OFF TO TRY TO MAKE MY MUM A MOTHER'S DAY CARD!!!!!! Hope y'all had a great polling day! :D May the best party win!
