Dude. I was clearing brush with the machete and I was attacked by hornets aka yellowjackets. I was stung twice and those little bastards HURT. You're talking to someone who is not fazed by normal wasp stings so believe me when I tell you this. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it either because the fuckers live in a hole in the ground and I can't see where it is.
Plus, in my haste to get away, I must have flung the machete when they stung me and now I can't find the damn thing.
Then my brilliant ass was stung one more time when I went back outside to look for it, and I did not see hide nor hair of it so it was a complete waste of time.
I had just sharpened it too.
This brush and tangle of vines that I was hacking down was taller than my head, I kept expecting to find a lost Aztec temple in there. So if the machete is in there then I guess I'll just have to write it off.
Oh, and all the yard services wanted astronomical amounts to clean the yard which is why I'm doing it myself. SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS, some asshole wanted. Then some guy said he would do it for $150 (reasonable, considering the state of it and I'm only asking about the front yard) but then never showed up.
We're not talking a huge area either, and it's not that bad except for the corner with the vines . God I want to pave it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of hornets? I am at a loss for how to kill wasps that live in a hole in the ground that I can't even see or get near.
