Doctor Who/Torchwood panel. Two words: FUCKING. AMAZING.

RTD was curiously absent. Apparently they had to do a Douglas Adams and sequester him away so he could work on DW 05. Steven Moffat, however, was there -- along with Jule Gardner, who's a complete charmer -- and was a very naughty boy. Apparently he had a little bit of an issue getting into the country (customs was worried he'd frighten the children) and gave very good dating advice: Children, do not drop your toothbrush on the dinner table after a first date. Or handcuffs. Although I'd bet a fanfic that Jack's done both.

He thought that the whole "Rose with a human Doctor" was a very good way to get rid of a clingy girlfriend, and that he's not quite sure if River Song's going to be coming back. Oh, and Jenny coming back to life was a his bad too, since he told RTD "Trek would let her live."

The Torchwood panel was AMAZING. John Barrowman truly has no shame, he climbed up on his chair and saluted the audience. When Gareth came out they acted like they were going to kiss, which, of course, made the fangirls (and boys) go mad. Naoko Mori was beautiful as usual, and there were quite a few interesting questions from the audience, including a question straight out of fandom:

"Since Jack is the Face of Boe, and the Face of Boe has children, isn't it about time for Jack and Ianto to settle down and have a family of their own?"

JB & GDL: *stunned and wha?*
JG: SERIES SIX!
JB: You're talking about a head in a jar. You're just as sick as I am!

JB and NM sang, it was beautiful. And apparently there was a running gag behind set with JB and GDL after Cyberwoman, which they were gracious enough to share.

JB: *points over GDL's shoulder* Who's that?
GDL: *looking stunned and heartbroken and woobie Ianto* LISA!

Someone also asked if they were up for a US spin off, to which JB replied "I better be in the God-damn series!"

Here are signing pictures. They're dark and blurry, but I was told to put them up anyway:

JB and his... manager, I think. Definitely not Scott, although he was there too. When totally4ryo stepped up and handed him her picture (she used the same one I did, of them kissing), he just looks over and goes "Gareth~. I'm gonna sign on your side~"

Blurry one of GDL. He was so sweet, and just turned on this dazzling smile when I stepped up, and even asked how I was doing. I think I turned a shade darker than my hair!

THE PANELS:

After we got that, we ran up to Ballroom 20 (where I met thefannishwaldo and lady_in_d_lake) to sit through the first panel while waiting for Who/Torchwood. Stan Lee and Grant Morrison were there, being adorably arrogant and adorably Scottish, respectively.

After that panel, there was a 15 minute gap between the comic one and Who/Torchwood, so all the cosplayers came out. Most are blurry, but here they are, with big thanks to lady_in_d_lake (shower her with love).

And then, the panels! And they even showed the longer Christmas Special trailer (which is probably on YouTube as I type).

This was the host of the panel, he writes a sci-fi column in the San Diego area.

WHO PART:

Julie Gardner and Steven Moffat. They were both hysterical, and she kept going on and on and on about the logistical nightmare of a horse in The Girl in the Fireplace.

TORCHWOOD:

JB came out and stood on his chair and saluted the crowd. Very Jack.

GDL came out soon after. He and JB acted like they were going to kiss. We were disappointed when they did not -- sorry, no pics of that. None when NM came out either (fighting with camera), although he dipped her and faked a kiss.

All three of them -- Burn Gorman wasn't there. Alas.

These two were so naughty. JB would work himself up and then calm down, and then GDL would jump in with the one thing to set him off again. It was priceless and very Ianto -- right sarcastic wit at the right time.

JG: Tosh is dead!
NM: *POUT*

JB and NM singing together.

And that's it!

Although there is one PS: totally4ryo and I stopped at Jack's for dinner (wait for the end of the joke to start laughing, plz), and we hear 'Jack' over the radio saying something about restraining orders and "That means you, Scott".

I missed it until she went, "I think that's wrong..."
