I don't know from FAKE (clue me in...I have a manga-obsessed 8-year-old. Good/bad/wildly inappropriate?) but the premise you've got set up is interesting. I'm curious to see where it goes.

I recommend it for you, but not for the little one (not yet, at any rate): There's lots of cussing, lots of violence, lots of shooting, lots of explosions and lots of graphic gay sex in the last volume. Think Torchwood set in the NYPD minus the aliens.

Yeah, think I'll save that for AFTER summer vacation, so as to not have to hide it from the munchkins. Which, sadly, means I'll finally understand the funny int his series about..oh...October. (Unless useful website? I'm always leery of trusting the wiki to be right.)

Hope you enjoy! If you can't finish it, I still suggest jumping to volume 7 for the smut (altho there are quite alot of kissing throughout the series that are pretty hot).
