So my kitten Jasper is missing. We got home around 4 am last night from the city and he was nowhere to be found. I figured we would find him this morning, but had a bad feeling. I even kept having dreams about looking for him. When I woke up he was still missing. I searched the entire apartment, which isn't even that big.
There's only 2 options: 1. he climbed out the open window (highly unlikely) or 2. he snuck out the door at some point. Only problem--wouldn't he be in the building somewhere? Wouldn't someone have turned him in? To make matters worse, he just got declawed last week, and was neutered, and the little guy needs his stitches out. I am so upset I don't even know what to do :(
I drove around, put up signs, knocked on neighbor's doors. The animal shelters are all closed today (well not answering their phones) so there's still hope that if he escaped he'll turn up.
I am just really praying he's not outside all cold and hungry :( That's my biggest fear. But still, I am so puzzled about how the hell he escaped. Once you get in the hallway, there's only an elevator and 2 stairwells. If by some crazy chance he got in the elevator, he'd still need to get out 2 doors in the front. Which makes me think he must've crawled/fallen out the window. Jeesh. both of these things are so ridiculously unlikely--which is why I kept thinking he'll turn up at some point from a closet--but still, he would've cried by now out of hunger :(
On a funny note, I once had a hamster "hammy" that disappeared for like 2 months. We finally found him in the vents in the basement. Insane.
On a shitty note, I cannot study, and did not study yesterday. This is becoming a friggin epidemic! I have gotta stop thinking about him and study!!!
