My weekends have turned into a 48 hour total body workout. What that means is that I, now, spend my weekends playing with the gabby monster.
Saturday started out nice and slow with me ordering in a Macs breakfast/ brunch, to the monster's delight.
"What's that mummy? HOORAY! MacDonald's. My favourite. Delicious!"
I'm not making it up. She really does say stuff like that.
Got daddy gorilla to drop us off at my mum's. Coz I booked myself with an afternoon's crash course on wired jewellery. Great to get the creative juices running. Monster fell asleep in the car so I took the chance to run out early and drive down to Ikea to get some "props" for my video production. I only had 30min so it took all my discipline to only look for the things on my list and not browse the aisle. Allowed myself a 2min distraction to look at an espresso maker. Really cheap for $30 plus since I saw something similar years ago at Wisma for $100 plus.
Anyway, the course was painfulon my fingers. But I had fun. Too bad I had to rush off early to pick my mum, monster and the maid for Gabby's gym class. Had to leave gabby and my helper to tumble round the gym coz my mum wanted me to see her new cheong sum. I think the shop owner was really happy with our visit. Not only did my mum pick up her newly altered cheong sum for the brother's wedding, she also picked out another chinese collared dress for the church ceremony. I picked out 4 clutch bags (for a total of $35). Mum's really happy with the bargain. I think I'll visit the shop again for next year's chinese new year outfits. There's a cute "Huan Zhu Ge Ge" dress I'm eyeing for Gabby.
If you know someone looking for traditional costumes for their wedding, the shop had a really nice Kwa (traditional chinese wedding dress). I was also amused with this golden emperor costume. Not that my brother will let me dress him up for the fun of it.
Sunday was Children's Day celebrations in church. Gabby got to splash around the portable pool with her friends. Photos will be put up later. No time to extract it out from the camera. Afternoon was spent at the Science Centre, watching the new "Bubblemania" show. Jing, my old friend, brought her 2 nieces along for the show too. The girls had fun. I still laugh when I think of how Jing's niece wanted to exchange her little sis for Gabby.
During the show, Gabby sat on the steps beside another little girl, her age. And then, for reasons unknown to me, Gabby grabbed the hand of the little girl and started talking. Then after 5mins of looking like best friends, Gabby suddenly lost interest and didn't want to hold her hand anymore. Gabby even hid her hands behind her back. I have a strange kid.
I wonder what we'll do next weekend?
