it's been since june?
first - this icon makes my day :)
so i just realized last night that i haven't updated here since June... sorry to the two of you who read this, but life is crazy fo' sho'! so here is a quick little update on my life...
School: Last semester!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh good grief, i have fourteen credits this semester, and then i student teach. Classes are going fairly well, seems like this semester will be simple. I have a huge IEP project in my spec. ed class, but it's broken down over the course of the semester, so it shouldn't be a problem. i had my first day of field work today, and i'm going to be teaching first grade at Portage Path elementary school. Apparently this guy is a super technology guru and so my professor want to place me in there because i use technology... or something? i dunno, we'll see how this goes! he seems really laid back and isn't very intense when he talks to the kids. i'm not sure, but we'll see. hopefully i can learn a lot from him. I'm never going to learn the kids names though... there's one named Wolfgang... seriously? where do these people come from? haha! we'll see how it goes... it's only day one
Work: I LOVE working at the CCD (Center for Child Development) I work in the pre-k room so they're four and five year olds (we have one three year old, but it's a newly established pre-k room, and since annie was already in the room, they didn't move her.) i love working with them, they say the funniest things and are just so stinkin' cute! In other news, i quit bath and body works. there was a lot of drama that went down, the manager whom i adored was fired, and we got a manager form down the street who was pretty much awful. when tina was let go, i sent her a text message and said "if you need me to beat anyone up let me know" -- clearly a joke, right? i mean, i know i'm a bully, and it's us pre-school teachers you have to watch out for, but seriously? i got a phone call and she basically told me it was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. i tried to explain to her it was a joke, but she wasn't having it. and she was just very fake, not at all cool. so i quit... it'll be officially two weeks tomorrow, so hooray! :)
Jeff: almost 17 months, it's going well. when i move home to student teach i feel it'll be the real test of our relationship, so we'll see.... but i feel pretty good about it.
other news: my grandma is coming to Ohio today! :) last time ihad posted i said she was coming, but she didn't... her cyatic (ps?) nerve was acting up and so she went into the hospital, and then had to have rehab/therapy, and then they had to move her into an assisted living place since she can't live on her own and my grandpa passed in March. so that was a whole big hoopla, but she's on her way as we speak, and should be in town this evening, so hooray! :) Karen and David (kids from church) are getting married this weekend. Karen was one of the few people i talked to back in the youth group days, so i'm going with mom. there's a dessert reception to follow, so i'm pretty excited about that lol!
