Saturday morning even though I could sleep in if I wanted to saw me awake at 6:45am. I used the time wisely, running the dishwasher, folding laundry, and putzing around on the computer. We were out the door at 9am, picking up Boo and Colin (ex husband's girlfriend's son) for a morning out. We shopped for wedding things we needed, then it was out for lunch to celebrate Boo's awesome report card. We had fun, and it's always good to spend time with the kidlings.
After dropping the kids off it was off to home to shower and get ready for the wedding. We got all organized and were out the door on time (which is just so important to me). We arrived at the wedding, and I handed over the heirloom pieces to the bride and was asked to fix a pair of pants LOL. It's all good. The wedding was beautiful, the reception fun (dancing with Tracey, Gilvain's wife Lauren, and of course my sisters was just way too fun), the after party just as fun, and I was sorry to have to leave at 11pm, but I had to work yesterday.
Worked yesterday with my hyperactive partner. He had me take his blood pressure first thing, as it's been high lately. It was a little high but not bad. At first I thought he was testing me because I had trouble the last two times getting BP on our patients. It was a matter of having blocked ears the first time, and even he had a hard time the second time. I helped him pick out a little valentine gift for his date last night, laughed when we got our ambulance stuck at a Walmart (wouldn't start) and he had to explain why we were there, and in general we came to a better understanding about working together. Honestly, it is nice to know what to expect from your partner, even if it would be nice to not be running around in between runs all the time.
Last night I came home to find
brute_farce had gone out and gotten me Valentine's Day gifts. He's not the kind of guy who gives flowers, mind you, but I came home and was presented with a single rose, a stuffed frog that makes "mwah" sound when you press his belly, and of course chocolate and peeps! I gave him the card I had picked up along with the little gifts I had managed to pick up along the way, and we had Chinese take out for dinner. Of course I don't know if I'd qualify watching R. Lee Ermy during dinner as romantic, but heck what's Valentine's Day without explosions, right? Snuggle time was much needed and much enjoyed.
This morning while
brute_farce was getting dressed I texted his cell phone wishing him a happy birthday. I wanted to be the first, and since we wake up next to each other it was kind of easy! LOL
Back to work with me!
