so, I definitely don't update enough...

So lately, God has been revealing so many things to me. Besides the blessings he has given me, he has also been revealing some sort of direction. Meaning two weeks ago, I had none and now I do. So let's go back. Two Thursdays ago, we had bible study at my apt and Kelly talking about Connecting. Little did I know Stacy and I would put that into effect real soon. Stacy went biking on Sunday with Philip and then we hung out later on. Stacy is probably my best friend up here at school (see previous entry), but there are just some areas we haven't really connected in. Well, later that night I had come home and put on my pjs and then I get a phone call from a very distraught Stacy Cintron. She asked me to come over, because she had a tick and she needed me to remove it (location wishes to remain disclosed). So I went over there and after sometime of just hysterical laughter, we got as much out as we could and I went home. Needless to say - God provided this opportunity for me to really "connect" with Stacy! He has such a sense of humor!!! Stacy is a huge blessing in my life though (once again see previous entry).
He's also placed an incredible man of God in my life. Mike is the most understanding, faithful, caring, compassionate, considerate, patient, (huge long list of qualities) man I have ever met. And God blessed me with him. Unbelievable. Seriously - I have a hard time believing it sometimes. But God is great. I get to see Mike this weekend. I cannot wait. Even if it is just a short visit, it will be worth it. We get to spend our first Valentine's Day together and I know that Valentine's Day is a hallmark holiday, but it still is fun to have a boyfriend that you care so much about to spend it with. Mike is working for NASA in Idaho, and it turns out he can stay on over the summer and into the fall and hopefully until he graduates. Also, when he asked what sort of future potential is there with them, his boss told him she wants him to get fired up about the space program and eventually work for NASA (say in CAPE CANAVERAL, FL!) Is that God or what!!!
So back to God revealing things. Last Wednesday, Jenn Jones was over. She is this really cool girl I have had to pleasure of getting to know since this semester began. She just transferred here from James Madison University and she is so awesome. So, she was over and we were talking about summer projects (*sigh*) and then we started talking about Young Life. Turns out we both have huge hearts for high school students. She is going on staff with Student Venture, I however am not being called that direction. And as of then, wasn't really being called in any direction. But then, the next day I was sitting in a certain really boring Modern Judaism (Bash Christianity) class and all of a sudden I realized what I was supposed to do. How can I impact high school student without going on staff or teaching? I can be a high school guidance counselor. So, I called my mom and told her the big news. I am applying for grad school! Well then I got home and I was looking online at deadlines and requirements and UCF is the only school whose deadline isn't until March 1. Everyone else's is Feb. 1. Plus they have a spring admittance if I don't get in to the fall. FSU doesn't. Plus, I will get to go to Cocoa campus and live at home (saving lots of money) and the tuition is about $200 per hour at UCF (once again saving money). So, I signed up to take the GRE (basically SATs for grad school) and I am doing that next Wednesday. Already God has provided so many opportunities. He is AMAZING! Now all I need is a minimum score of 1000 on my GRE! It is so nice to have some sort of direction.
So then, I had the pleasure of attending a women's conference in Atlanta this past weekend. I got to ride over with Stacy, Traci, Jenn, and Francine. All four wonderful Godly women. We had a great time playing the association game...it's funny how it always got back to either God, or FOOD! You can tell what our lives revolve around! The conference was great. It wasn't so much the speakers, but the time us women got to spend together and the praise and worship was FANTASTIC. If you have a chance - pick up Jami Smith's CDs at LifeWay. Absolutely wonderful. I got another chance to really talk to Jenn. She is so great. God has put so many wonderful women in my life this year. I just can't thank him enough.
God has also revealed to me that I really have a lack of patience. He waited until 2 1/2 months before I am supposed to graduate to show me what my future holds. He blessed me with a boyfriend that live 3000 miles away, that I won't get to be with for another 2 years. And on that note - EVERYONE around me is engaged. (yet another thing I must be patient for!) And I am trying I really really am. So lets name everyone - Congratulations are underway for: Andy Netzer, Tiffany Hoy, Alyse Smith, Melanie Bronson, Sarah Burgin, Julie Baron, Krissy Borger, Lara Gilliland, Katie Chen, plus random people I meet all over! Tis the season.
So this week has just been a week of praising God. For the things he has blessed me with and the things he will bless me with one day. And I am being patient! I hope you are having a wonderful week.
-heart-
Veronica
