Rectober #3: X-Men Recs
Charles/Erik from X-Men was this past month's obsession. I got into them a while ago, but I think I got distracted by something else shiny before I really had a chance to read/rec too many things. So I figured it was time to remedy that! This might be the largest of my rec posts this month and there is a good amount of variety here as well. :D
I'm [obviously] very attracted to pairings that have that love/hate dynamic, so I don't think I ever stood a chance against these two. Getting more back story in First Class and seeing their chemistry together was really just the nail in the coffin. Such a wonderful pairing, and so much history to play around with.

Really wonderful fic that basically follows along First Class, with the addition of accidental bonding! I loved how the bond is portrayed here and how it affects their growing emotions. The ending is gorgeous and a bit heartbreaking (because it really does follow First Class canon pretty closely), but it felt all the more realistic for it, and it's certainly more promising then how First Class ends in canon!

I don't think I have ever read a Tarzan fusion before and I was a bit hesitant, especially since half the X-men characters are gorillas. But it honestly works really well! I loved how everybody was worked in, and the connection between wild Erik and scientist Charles was so lovely.

Truly wonderful fic with a wheelchair-bound, reclusive Charles, and a slightly less fanatical Erik. I loved watching their realtionship grow and develop and the whole thing felt like a very believable alternate course of events. Everybody was wonderfully characterized and I liked how the canons were blended and slightly altered to fit in this AU. God this fic is just so freaking amazing!!! Loved how on point the characterizations were for both Erik and Charles and how seamlessly everybody was incorporated into this AU. The relationship development was perfectly paced and chemistry between them was just mind-blowing. Plus crazy hot switching sex! There are also several other small fics and oneshots in the verse.
I'm [obviously] very attracted to pairings that have that love/hate dynamic, so I don't think I ever stood a chance against these two. Getting more back story in First Class and seeing their chemistry together was really just the nail in the coffin. Such a wonderful pairing, and so much history to play around with.

Summary: He had been following Xavier's career for years. He had read and reread and reread again everything the man had written. He had tried, on more occasions than he could count, to recruit Xavier into the Brotherhood, but each request for a meeting had been denied. Aside from his work, no one knew anything about Xavier. Not what he looked like, not the full extent of his power--though from what little they did know, he was by far the most powerful telepath in existence--and not what his intentions were.
The man was a recluse. As far as Magneto knew, Xavier had never once stepped foot outside his impenetrable Westchester manor. And now he was scheduled as the keynote speaker for the largest pro-mutant conference in the world.
Truly wonderful fic with a wheelchair-bound, reclusive Charles, and a slightly less fanatical Erik. I loved watching their realtionship grow and develop and the whole thing felt like a very believable alternate course of events. Everybody was wonderfully characterized and I liked how the canons were blended and slightly altered to fit in this AU. The chemistry was lovely between Erik and Charles, and I haven't read many fics that have Charles in the chair, but it was so beautifully done here.

God this fic is just so freaking amazing!!! Loved how on point the characterizations were for both Erik and Charles and how seamlessly everybody was incorporated into this AU. The relationship development was perfectly paced and chemistry between them was just mind-blowing. Plus crazy hot switching sex! There are also several other small fics and oneshots in the verse.
