HD Book Fair Recs
I joined the HP fanfiction fandom in November 2012, so this is the first time I've been able to experience hd fan fair live. Of course, I've gone through the masterlists of all the past fests and read as much fic as possible, but it just isn't the same as experiencing the fest as it happens! That being said, I may be a bit biased, but I think this might be the best fan fair yet. Being a book lover, I think it might have to do with this year's fantastic theme, which has allowed for so much creativity and really provided a strong link to canon and the HP universe we all love so much! Title: The Colour of Snow

Summary: I think I can call this a modern vampire story. In which Harry is severe injured and Draco an Ministry experiment/captive.
I love vampire!draco and while this wasn't super dark ,it definitely had some dark overtones, which I sometimes crave instead of fluffy creature fics. I love their connection and the open ending seems fitting. Plus I am a big fan of good-guy Ron, which sneaks in there.

This fic was fantastic and fascinating! I loved the idea of uni and the magical military and the fusion of these ideas into the magical world was so well done! And the dynamic between Ron and Harry, and, of course, Harry and Draco was just too perfect.

This fic was lovely. I loved the subtle ways the visions invade Draco's life and his growing relationship with Hermione and Harry. Pansy is perfection in this, both with Draco and Hermione.

Summary: Harry never thought taking a job as Draco Malfoy's bodyguard was going to be easy. Add in a curse that makes Malfoy even more of an obnoxious git than usual, and Harry's got serious problems.
This was quite a funny fic. Draco gets cursed and can only speak the truth, which, as you can imagine, leads to some hilarious confrontations, especially with Harry as his hot bodyguard. Of course, Draco being his slippery self, finds this horrifying, and Harry, with his love of honesty, find this refreshing and realizes his attraction for Draco. Loved the concept and the emotion in this. And a lovely Luna Lovegood. I find that she can be difficult to nail down in fics, but she was great in this, rambling on in such a straightforward way about life and sex.

This was so so good! I thought the Founders era was so well done and fascinating, and I absolutely loved the evolution of Draco and Harry's relationship.

This fic is so intricate and well thought out. There is the mystery of what happened to Malfoy and the unusual curse that is killing off Death Eaters. And then we have Harry and Malfoy and Raines, the slow build romance and figuring out their feelings...Oh it is so good!
