H/D Tropes 2014 Recs
There is seriously SO MUCH to love about hd-tropes. It's H/D (so obviously that's a win), it celebrates all the awesome fandom tropes (which I can honestly never get enough of), all the fic has to be rated R or NC-17 (um, this is absolutely the greatest thing ever), and it's an exchange fest (which I tend to think encourages really high quality work, since people are creating a gift for somebody).
There were honestly a ton of really spectacular fics (and art! the art was ALL so amazing), and I had such a hard time choosing just a few favorites! I seriously recommend checking out this year's masterlist and checking out all the other wonderful works.

Wonderful fic; this is the perfect kind of FWB fic. Crazy hot with developing feelings, but not too much angst when it comes time for the relationship to actually become a relationship. And I actually really enjoyed the non-linear narrative (it wasn't confusing and the time jumps weren't too big).

Finally made time to read this and it was so much fun! Loved crazy Narcissa and her matchmaking schemes! And I really liked how the whole Harry/Ginny thing was handled; not too angsty, but it felt like a realistic parting & reaction. Watching Harry and Draco's feelings evolve was just too adorable, and the ending was fab!

Rentboy fics are really not my thing, so that fact that I loved this fic as much as I did was a wonderful surprise. Their relationship was lovely and believable and the details in the story (like Harry and Kreacher's text convos!) were fantastic. Plus, some seriously, ridiculously hot sex. Switching, but mostly bottom!Harry which is my absolute fav ratio. :D

I just adore everything about this fic! The characterizations for everybody were just so spot on, Harry and Draco especially, but Ron and Luna here are also wonderful. The way the time turner was incorporated is brilliantly done. It felt so organic and natural and worked so well with the flow of the story. Harry and Draco's relationship is also just amazing here with all the fantastic banter and snark and growing feelings and really freaking hot sex.

Such a powerfully intense fic and wonderfully written. Different from a lot of veela fics in that the boys are much older, and I thought the reasoning as to why the "veela" didn't manifest until later was really interesting. Wonderfully written connection between Draco and Harry and so much sexual tension! Which thankfully leads to some crazy hot sex!
