May Harry Potter Recs
I actually read a fair amount of non-fest HP fics this month. Some of these are older fics, or fics that just finished updating.
Title: Supplicant (prequel to Mister Potter)

This is a fantastic fic and works wonderful as a prequel to "Mr. Potter. I love how Draco's feelings regarding the reception of the Dark Mark are depicted here; it isn't often I read that particular moment described as anything but filled with terror or fear or misplaced pride, and I really enjoyed the different direction this fic took it! And, of course, Draco's feelings toward Harry are so beautifully conveyed, especially through the medium of sex and submission.

Crazy hot and surprisingly sweet. Loved this little glimpse into their relationship and the role reversal part way through gives us the best of both worlds!

This is one of my favorite fics and I have no clue how I managed to forget to actually add it to my rec lists. I loved Draco as a Dom in this, he's fabulous and I thought the way that BDSM was discussed and portrayed was wonderful and really captured the intricacies of the dynamics. This fic hit all of my kinks and is probably one of my favorite BDSM fics ever.
Title: Black Phoenix (Second fic in the Charming Universe)

Continuation in a very interesting verse. I really loved the idea of Harry as a "dark lord" and exploring how that would affect him, and his friendships, and his values, and the wizarding world in general. Brilliant characterizations and OC's, and Draco as a Minster of Magic candidate was especially compelling. Part four in this universe is a brief oneshot has already been written and part three, a direct sequel to this fic is currently being written, with new chapters posting weekly.

God this is just gorgeous. I loved seeing Harry through Scorpius' eyes, how bright and amazing and unattainable he was, and the unrequited longing was delicious. And the H/D at the end was just amazing. both because you could see the connection between the two of them, and because of poor Scorpius.

Such a great fic with lots of angsty pining that is so sweet and hot when they finally come together. And a really great friendship between Dominique and James.
