I've been reading quite a bit of HP fic over the past few months, and here are some recent favs! We've got some fics from recent fests,

Oo, this was so excellent! It's an interactive fic, which is always fun, but then the story just hits you right in the feels! Draco's voice is spot on as he struggles with a relationship that feels like it's in the middle of falling apart, and the case happening in the background is properly creepy! Really had me on the edge of my seat, but no worries, the ending is lovely!

Summary: Three years after his world was shattered, Harry tries to pick up the pieces at the place he once called home.
God, this fic was so, so beautiful and so, so sad, but in the best kind of way. The writing here is so gorgeous and descriptive, and Harry's voice and headspace here was so viscerally real. The relationship between Harry and Draco was beautiful and clearly so full of love, and I'm in awe of how much emotion and heart the author managed to fit in less than 10k! The ending was so lovely and poignant and bittersweet, with both of them getting some measure of closure, even if it wasn't quite the ending either of them would have hoped for. I know MCD isn't for everybody but I HIGHLY encourage y'all to give this one a read.

Summary: From the moment he met him, Harry knew that Draco Malfoy had terminally caught pretension from an early age. As it stood, judging by the ghost sitting at his kitchen table with the ankle of one leg resting on the knee of the other, arms crossed against his chest, and two ghostly baby peacocks fluttering around him, death had not managed to disinfect him of this affliction.
This fic was awesome! I really enjoyed the writing here and how the author injects these moments of levity and connection despite the obvious sadness of Draco's murder. The fic was engaging from the get-go and I loved the characterizations here, not just of Harry and Draco, but the glimpses we see of other characters as well. The build between them was lovely and I was so curious to see how things ended and I really enjoyed the direction the author took!

I'm a *smidge* biased because this was for my prompt, but the author did a truly excellent job with it! Harry and Draco are Curse-Breakers and each married, but when Harry's hit with a fuck-or-die curse, what choice do they have? Lots of fantastic smut (my favorite!) and I really enjoyed how things sort of spiral out of control from the curse, with neither of them seeming to be able to quit each other and feelings growing with each encounter. Some lovely feels all around and a wonderfully hopeful ending!

This fic was SO good! Post-war Draco is really struggling and decides to drunkenly cast a curse that has unexpected consequences. I found the whole concept of the wizarding world forgetting Draco Malfoy exists to be super fascinating, and seeing everybody interact with Draco without all the history and bad blood colouring their interactions was really cool to see. The author did a great job exploring how different Draco's relationships could be without the past getting in the way of things, and I just really adored Draco's headspace and the slight conflict within him over his gains and losses as a result of the curse. The ending was perfect, and I honestly just had such a good time reading this!

These fics were so great! The first is from Draco's POV and the remix is from Harry's and they're both quite different stylistically but work really well to show two different side to their story. I really enjoyed the shifting power dynamics and the way the hate!sex between them grew feelings, because of course it did! The smut was all seriously hot and I so felt for both Harry and Draco here each going through their own struggles. Harry's difficulty accepting his sexuality is definitely something I can see and I really enjoyed the way it was captured and portrayed here. Plus a lovely ending! You can read either fic as a standalone, but I'd definitely recommend reading as a pair!

The build and connection between Harry and Draco was great, and I really enjoyed the background characters and the fun ~behind the scenes~ on the making of a Quidditch team. Super hot, lots of fun, and a very sweet ending. :D
