In case you've never heard of it, there's this awesome community,
getyourwordsout, which is basically all about setting a yearly writing goal--either or word count or number of writing days--with monthly check-ins to see how you're doing. There's a really active community, spreadsheets, sprint rooms, and generally just a lot of awesome encouragement to help you reach your writing goals. I've played along for the past 3 years, and I'm definitely planning to play along again in 2019!
You can find out more about the community here, but essentially there are 7 "levels" of participation for the word count goals raging from 75k words in a year to 500k, and three levels of participation for the habit pledge, 120/240/350 writing days. You can only choose one, and I'm still debating on what I'd like to do myself...
There are a ton of really interesting and thought-provoking posts on writing that go up throughout the year, and there's no shortage of support if you need it.
Anyway, if you're the kind of person who likes structure and goals (like me!) then I'd totally recommend. Sign-ups are open until January 15th! :D
