For those of you who have known me for awhile, you'll know that I didn't start out in fandom as a writer. My main fandom contribution was reccing, and I was pretty certain I'd never dip my toes into the writing pond...Funny how things can change!
I started playing around with writing fanfic in October 2014, and you can read about how that happened in this old livejournal post if you're interested! I mentioned in that post, and I've mentioned many times since, that one of the biggest reasons I started writing, was because there were these two sort of universes living in my head, little worlds I would think about from time to time, and I really wanted to get to a point where I could translate the scenes in my head into some kind of cohesive fics to share with the world.
The first of those worlds turned into my Are You Mine? trilogy. The second, is the fic I'm sharing with you all today. As an interesting aside, the Are You Mine? 'verse has 3 main fics, and 3 ficlets, and it's still more than 40k shorter than this beast right here... O_O
Anyway, the point is, this fic has been living in my head for a LONG LONG time, and I'm so excited to finally be able to release it into the wild! It's gone through several transformations over the past 4+ years, but there are a lot of aspects that have remained the same. There are actually snippets of dialogue in this fic that I wrote back in 2014 when I first started writing, though obviously they've been heavily revised!
This fic is more than THREE TIMES the length of my second longest fic, and OH BOY did I feel it. I don't know if I'm cut out for writing long!fic, but I'm super glad I can tick it off my list. ALL the kudos to those of you who have done this more than once! I feel like it's time for me to hibernate for the winter now...
Anyway, as I said above I know it's quite long (over twice the length I originally thought it would be) so I want to give an extra thank you in advance for anybody who takes the time to read it. I definitely understand if you don't have it in you to read a fic that's 135k (Seriously, I get it!) but if you so have the time and inclination, please know how much your support means to me, especially with a fic that's been with me for so many years. <3 This entry was originally posted here on Dreamwidth.
