Some HP Recs

Jul 31, 2017 09:10

Ugh, I have been super remiss in my regular reccing lately. Mostly because I haven't been doing all that much fic reading. Other fandom responsibilities + RL exploding has not been the most conducive to fic reading. I have, however, read a number of wonderful fics over the past month or two, and I figured it was high time that I make a mini rec post. :)

Title: The Devil Wears Tartan
Author:
kellychambliss
Pairing: Pomona Sprout/Minerva McGonagall

Word count: 1,425
Content/Warnings: 2nd person POV, references to religion,
wand_in_a_knot 2017
Summary: Pomona Sprout's relationship with Minerva McGonagall is a religious experience.
This isn't a pairing I read much of, but this author totally brought them to life for me. I felt breathless throughout the whole thing, and the 2nd person was so flawless, I actually didn't even really notice it. It just felt right. Really beautifully written piece.

Title: The Last Ten Years, and His Whole Life
Author:
bixgirl1
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~3,800
Content/warnings: Pining, switching, bottom!draco, bottom!harry
Summary: It's always been there, in the back of his mind.
Beautifully written ficlet with a fabulously characterized Draco. I really enjoyed the style and the cadence to this fic, as we get a peek inside Draco's head and see his relationship with Harry evolve over the years.

Title: Be Still
Author:
writcraft
Pairing: Draco/Harry
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 4,949
Content/Warnings: implied switching, past relationship,
wand_in_a_knot 2017

Gorgeous fic that gave me all the Pride feels! Draco and Harry are just lovely here, and the tone was perfect.

Title: The Best Medicine
Author:
Brief_and_Dreamy
Pairing: Draco/Harry
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 7,894
Content/Warnings: bottom!harry, implied switching, first times
Summary: Draco loves Potter's laugh. This somehow leads to sex, then discussions of the past, then more sex.
Really wonderful fic with a fabulously characterized Draco who doesn't always have control of his mouth. Perfect balance of fun and sexy while still acknowledging their pasts.

Title: The Things They Never Say
Author:
bixgirl1
Pairing: Draco/Harry
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 9,241
Content/Warnings: Quidditch Player Harry, hate!sex, rough sex, bottom!draco, bottom!harry, switching, semi-public!sex, non-linear timeline, rimming, intercrural sex, face-fucking
Summary: Harry and Draco don't know how to talk. So they do other things instead.
Really sexy fic with some wonderful tension between Harry and Draco. Their relationship builds and evolves beautifully, and the whole thing was just a wonderful read!

Title: Someone To Look After You
Author:
iamisaac
Pairing: James/Albus
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 2,172
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, bottom!james
Summary: James has had a hard day, and he doesn't want Albus to help him relax. He really doesn't.
Seriously hot fic with James trying to resist Albus and his feeling for his brother, but being unable to stay strong in the face of his desire.

Title: Here I Am, Again.
Author:
snax0
Pairing: Draco/Severus

Word Count: 7,080
Content/Warnings: bottom!draco,
hprarefest 2017
Summary: Five years after the war, Draco returns to England to work for Severus Snape. He expects an interesting job opportunity, but what he gets is a new nightshirt and a rekindled childhood crush.
This fic was so wonderful! Draco and Severus are beautifully characterized here, and I really loved the way the author portrayed their relationship. It was very clear that Draco had grown and matured, and it was wonderful seeing them connect as equals. Lovely read.
