Anyway - this was overall heartbreaking. Ron's normally my favourite, but I'd love to smack him across the gob with a phone book of China in this one, perhaps it would sort his marbles out a bit. Any parent who goes and cheats on their wife with kids upstairs deserves what's coming to them, so I hope poor overly trustful, overworked Hermione does my job for me. :D If she has raptors flying over Ron's head rather than canaries this time, I won't be surprised, LOL!
You really did a good job portraying Hugo's distress, his feeling that something was off and pushed away as an unwelcome witness to his father's transgressions and how Victoire manipulated nearly everyone into appreciating him at his expense. The hard part is, that even it would be very gratifying for me as an adult reader to see Hermione deal with Ron (because, honestly, once a kid that's frustrated knows, it's only a question of time), it would be no easier on Hugo seeing his family fall apart. I studied child abuse and lots of kids in his situation would rather keep their mouth shut, thinking that they either wouldn't be believed or feeling desperate to keep their family together, than to send it all to the dogs and speak.
I believe that if a story makes you contemplate (even if despair!) it means there was a job very well done! :)

Ron is my favorite as well, but I admit I have a sort of guilty pleasure of him getting it on with younger women...filthy pervert that I am!
I'm glad Hugo's distress came across here, and that it made you think! Definitely not a easy, fluffy piece, but I'm glad you enjoyed.
