I'm going and I would urge you to if you want to attend an immersive HP con. By that I mean, the con takes over the entire hotel which is done up in an HP theme and many of the local businesses welcome con goers by having HP themed specials. You will soak in HP all weekend.

It's very cosplay centric, but there's plenty of fic related things as well. I had a rough go of it last year but that was related to a lot of things not having to do with the con itself.

I would say give it a go. The more of us fic/art folks there are, the more of that type of stuff will be on hand.

I don't see where there are panels listed - it looks like programming is still being planned and they're looking for submissions. You should put something together! I'm thinking about submitting something, too.

Yeah, I was looking at last year's schedule, so it definitely is possible that this year's will have more fandomy things.

I know! They do seem pretty cool, and from what I've heard, cosplay is big there, so the theater-y aspect doesn't surprise me at all! :)

I think we may be in kind of the same boat! I'm intrigued and thinking about going, but I have some reservations about whether it would be the right place for me as someone who doesn't cosplay and who's more into fic and meta and critical analysis. It seems like it would be fun, but I'm still deciding whether I'm sure enough it would be fun for my bookish, introverted, indoorsy self to make the trip and pay for the things. Though having more fannish people there would definitely tilt the scales!

Also will depend on whether there's anything in England/Europe around 19 Years Later. I'm craving a trip over anyway, so that would appeal, but I haven't heard about anything yet.

And 1000% with you on England/Europe. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for anything going on over there, because I would definitely be down for a trip across the pond.
