yep. this is one hell of a floorplan right - i know. i drew it as part of conceptualization. according to the girlfriend, i'm a anal high C under the personality profiling test. i thought it was pretty well drawn out though. at least i managed to convey some thoughts to her and realize how similarly our brain worked!
really have to thank the following people for coming over the day before just to help out with my decoration and planning - my baby, my bff qingyun, my comrade brother joseph, little princess jasmine, my entire family including mum, dad, uncle russell, aunty gigi, yoong yoong, nicholas and daryl. as you can see, the above are some peektures of the messy production process that turned my house upside down and the final products. i haven't seen so many cute cows before in my entire life and i promise you there were 60 over mini cows we had to cut and we worked till the wee hours of the morning. due to space constraint, all my rooms were fully utilized including the living room, for sleeping.
we awoke to the sounds of the handphones ringing non-stop by the helium balloon uncles and it was tragic because it meant we overslept. haha - i realized the balloon uncle was half an hour earlier than the slated time. i ordered the helium balloons after realizing that it was a massive task to fill the ceiling with man-made streamers and mainly because qingyun is afraid to blow balloons. so might as well order right. so i made a quick decision to order 4 days before the party! the supplier is really awesome so if you need the contacts just ask me!
we actually had loads of fun preparing the clubhouse - from the curling of the helium balloon strings, putting up the banners to hanging the streamers on the railings and pasting the cows along the steps up to the party venue. i kept worrying about the weather (from a week before) and on the actual day i had the fright of my life when i saw those threatening clouds.
this was taken at around 11.30am and the party was starting at 2.00pm. everyone was trying to reassure me that the weather would hold out and i was soo glad it did! :) tell me you wouldn't be scared when you see such a weather prior to an outdoor birthday party and i'll salute you with both my legs!
and so yep, the party started and everyone had fun. at least they seemed to and i hope they did. i'll just let some of the peektures do the talking for now. btw, there's just so many photos i'll do selective uploading - the full album's out on facebook alright!

now comes the cake cutting - peektures with everyone with my cake! cake was, as previously mentioned, a gift from aunty shirley and by far the most expensive present i got from anyone. so, thank you aunty shirley! much love goes out to you and me lovee you!

there was an after-party at my place (dinner) which included my entire family clan as well as the lrm-ers who decided to gamble in my room. never had so many pairs of shoes outside my house before but it was a great feeling.
for the record, i insisted on having the party at my place (the other alternative was my aunt's condo at Eastern Lagoon 2 function room which was bigger and fully sheltered) because most of whom i invited have had memories at my place one way or another. every bit of the party was a part of me as well if you realized from the cows (which i always draw on mine and others' lecture notes) and time of the party (i'm not a very morning or noon person so i put it as high tea at the time when i'm mostly awake and active) to the colour scheme (white and blue my favourite colours) and caterer (i grew up with Kriston Catering and the owner's a close family friend).
and to all whom i invited and(or) attended, i am so thankful for all your presence, presents, unconditional love and never-ending forgiveness towards my every doing and undoing. i am a very lucky girl and i'm glad it did not take me 21 years to understand this! this party took a lot of effort outta me from the planning to the hands-on - from the selection of food to the decor to the guest list to the choice of venue, i specially handpicked and chose as a gesture of thanks for all the help and love you guys have given me. this party wasn't planned for me but for you and if you were invited, it simply means i love you for being a part of me and my life. :)
