This morning I had a consultation with the doctor who specializes in the whole gall bladder thing. He said I can wait if I want until after the baby is born, but that he can do the surgery now, before Baby grows much more if I just want to get it over with. I asked about alternatives but he didn't offer any. So I have the thing removed or ( Read more... )

Dear Jen,
My advice is free, so you can take it or leave it....I wouldn't have the surgery until after the baby is born because of the anesthesia, and possible side effects from that. Of course, they probably say that this won't harm the baby, and it will be out of her blood stream and ya de da dee da...but I wouldn't risk it. They don't know what causes autism, adhd, bipolar, and probably a bunch of other things. December is coming up soon, it's not forever. I remember getting my tooth drilled on without pain killer b/c of being pregnant. Do what your husband and the doctor thinks though. Is it dangerous not to have them out? If one was disloged in the ereathea (?) would they do surgery then? What is the procedure? Do they use the ray (?) to blast the stones so they don't have to cut?
Love,
Momma C.

I haven't nailed down what I'm doing yet. I still haven't heard back from my OB about the whole thing but Brett isn't thrilled with the idea of me having surgery AT ALL. The longer I wait, the less feasible it is so if I had to guess, I'd say I will end up waiting til after the baby is born. I would love some grace til then though. I have good days and bad days. Today hasn't been too great, but I've had worse. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Hope you're doing well.
