I know last year must have been much of the same but I swear I do not recall there being such a relentless onslaught of the white stuff. I had to be towed or pushed or pulled out of ditches no less than 8 times in the 3 weeks prior to Christmas. All Christmas travel plans were set aside..we finally had Christmas on Friday because that was the soonest the highway from Chicago was safe enough for Meg and Baby to travel home. Once the New Year was upon us we got hit with non-stop rain for 1 1/2 days which melted the snow and then flooded everything. All the water then promptly froze leaving us unable to navigate down any of the gravel roads leading to the paved roads...so we had to stay home...even the 4 wheel drive just slid all over. The snow machine began cranking it out again on Sunday night. Monday I slid smack dab into a snowbank and tore off half of my front bumper...which is when I realized the front bumper of my Jetta is, well, WAS made of some kind of plastic that cracks at sub degree temps and snowbank impacts. I also did some internal damage because the heat stopped working that day as well. The snow has continued all this week and yet again this morning my driveway looks as tho we've not plowed once. I ventured to the store to get milk last evening and proceed to get stuck at an intersection coming home *sigh* insert eye rolling here because it is actually getting to be routine, that getting stuck thing is!! Anyway neighbor driving by pushed me out and made me chuckle as he said "Just remember the worst ride is better than the best walk in this stuff" oh so true...
