Summertime...

and the living is easy. This year because I am much busier without my law partner and an increased caseload makes it difficult to get away from work. That combined with the gas prices we have opted to stay at home and forgo the usual traveling all over summer vacay plans. While for some this may sound boring however I am thrilled. Already this summer we have been able to enjoy our home and land unlike any summer I remember. We will still do some camping, sailing, boating and such nearby but I am enjoying our pond so much more this year and especially the gardens and porches(think ice tea, books, flowers...lazy evenings). This weekend marks Meg and Baby's vacation from Chicago and they are staying here for 10 days. In addition, Nonnie, the baby of the family graduated from WMU this week. Much to be thankful for. There are all sorts of things planned, the biggest being an all day chartered fishing trip on Lake Michigan on Monday, can you say fish 'n chips!!! Later in the week is the 4th and the family reunion in Grand Haven in my bil's lovely house on Lake Michigan. The best part of it all...many, many, many fireworks, thanks to all the family who live in states whose laws do not value safety as much as Michigan does, lol!! I'm off now to get a jump on the cooking and go on a skeeter killing spree...they are scary this year!!!
