I haven’t been sketching these past few weeks because I spend an hour each morning writing postcards to Democrats, reminding them of a special election coming up in their district. When I’m done with that, my hand hurts and I don’t want to pick up a pencil. That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it.
I enjoy swimming more and more, each time I go and spend a lot of time watching How to … videos and then try and practice what I’ve seen the next day. I have to keep reminding myself to slow down or else I run out of energy. Once I slow down, the gliding and breathing come so much easier.
We’re still running our kitchen out of the dining room and bathroom. Because of the work they’re doing in the attic there is a continual layer of dust on everything. The knob & tube wiring is almost completely gone but while pulling it all out, that 100-year-old insulation seeps through the cracks so I’m needing to vacuum almost every night after they leave. Just two guys doing the work, it’s a small company, and I sort of have a crush on one of them. Don’t tell anyone, this is our secret.
Ky’s last day at work is next Wednesday. I just looked at our shared calendar and he has something going on every day the following week, which doesn’t surprise me. I know he thinks about “what am I going to do now” so he’s wanting to take the road to retirement in phases. I think he’s going to get involved at the Western Railway Museum but to what capacity, I don’t know and I’m sure he doesn’t know either.
That’s it for now. We’re running CAT6 cable under the house from the new switch to the TV. Dirty messy job.
This is my all-time favorite wall. Every time I walk by it I eagerly wait to see what I can photograph.
