We spent three hours with various cats at the animal shelter. Because Nouveau was so .... so wonderful and unique, we knew it best to not try and replicate what we had. We decided to get a cat that was not similar to her in every way. We succeeded in that goal when we brought home this Yellow Bomb. We call him Agent Orange sometimes. He's such a terrorist around the house.
Poor Spike. Blue is relentless in his harrasment, rarely leaving Spike to just be. He chases Spike's tail, jumps on him and bats his head until Spike can't stand it any longer and pounces back, which is exactly what Blue wants. We're now trying behaviour modification with him. When it looks like Spike is wearying from the constant pestering, we put Blue in the office and close the door. I think it's working. At least when he comes out he's more mellow. If even for a short time we feel like we're honoring the "old cat."
He's just a bit over a year old, purrs very softly when he's feeling homey, and hopefully will become a companion to Spike. Actually, already I've noticed bonding between the two, When one is away, the other one whines and walks in circles letting us know something is not right ... the other cat is not here.
He's a character.
