we got hitched - again

We gave each guest a copy of our vows so they could read along with us. It was important to both of us that each person hear the words we were speaking:

To Ky -

I promise to honor and respect you and give you what you need to flourish and be joyful

I promise to let go of feelings that arise from selfish desires, clingy attachments and fears, so that I can open my heart fully to you without expectations

I will support you in your vocations and avocations, practicing generosity by giving you room to explore new arenas and stand beside you when life becomes uncomfortable

I will set my past behind me so we can step clearly into our future together

I promise to never know you completely, delighting in watching the seeds sown into your life, bloom and produce more abundant life

You will never stop surprising me
I will trust in your goodness
Relax in your kindness
Bask in your brightness
And revel in your essence

I vow to cherish and care for you every day for the rest of our lives

Like you, I am committed to the duality of each of us, being fully separate and complete as an individual, while also honoring the unity of us. I believe in the Trinity of You, I and Us

May we continue to nurture each other and enhance this wondrous life that has presented each of us to the other

I am delighted, THRILLED, to marry you here, today. And re-marry you each moment of the rest of our lives

To Deborah -

I promise to always respect, honor and cherish you

I promise to live our life together without expectations, to experience and love each present instant for itself

I promise to never completely know you, to shun the complacency of familiarity, and to embrace who you are and have become in each new moment

I promise to continually place my past in my past, allowing us to make the clearing before us where we can create our future together, and step joyfully into it
I promise to lovingly support and encourage you to grow and explore - to become all that you might and can be

We are both committed to the duality of being fully separate and complete individuals, while at the same time being the unity of “us” - of traveling through life as the trinity of You, I, and Us, all existing fully and completely in each and every instant

Together we have promised to treat ourselves and each other with loving-kindness, and to carry that with us, sharing it out into the world

I promise that I will rock your world, as you will rock mine

To marry you, here and now, fills me with so much joy and excitement. And to share all the loving days of our lives together is a sweetness beyond all others, rededicating each to the other in every passing moment

The Chosen Beach

So easy. The entire weekend was so easy to move through. Not just the wedding but the meal afterwards, the overnight guests, the parents, the weather ... it all seemed like comfort food to me.

"We baptize these rings in the waters of the world, that touch the shores of every nation and every people."

We all went to a local restaurant afterwards, fifteen of us, and ate like kings and queens. When I went upstairs to visit the little girls room there were a few ladies standing outside waiting and when they saw me they exclaimed, "OH! Are you the bride. Are you the one who just got married? You're the lovely bride!?" And they hugged me. It was a special moment for me. Especially for one who in the past hated to be the center of attention.
