I had such a great holiday. Five day on the Monterey Peninsula, with the one I love, his family and friends becoming my family and friends. We sauntered along the beaches, discussed the vast intricacies of life, talked of trains (for instance, I learned why no one can name the day, month or even year when the Central Pacific became the Southern Pacific) and lived each moment in appreciation for who and where we are.
Mr. H's Young'in. I bought all three of us headlamps to use for some late night hikes we plan on making this spring.
His step mom is turning 90 this coming year. Amazing woman, we went out walking bright and early every morning, and much to my surprise, she's a power walker like me. We nearly ran the 2 1/2 miles every day! His whole family welcomed me as if I were theirs.
I think I would like to start a tradition ... every Christmas in Monterey. It is so beautiful there, although a bit nippy, the sun shone every day.
Walking the cat named dog.
We spent a day at
Point Lobos, "the most spectacular place on earth where sea meets the land."
Walk gently.
Breathe deep.
Reflect.
A peculiar bird the pelican; His beak can hold more than his bellycan.
New Years eve we'll be Contra Dancing with our friends at the local dance hall. Serendipity brought me to this place and I'm enjoying every single moment. It's good to be alive.
