i found my duck nancy today... dead in her pen. at first i was confused with how she died but we soon came up with an idea of what happened. She must have gotten scared by an animal outside the pen and ran into a little area between the house and the fencing wire and got stuck. Apparently the animal reached through and got her because the wire was bent (and it's pretty thick wire!) and there was blood and feathers. I think then she got away and back to the middle of the pen but she died of the injuries. she had blood on her head and in her mouth. It was so freakin sad. Sad to see ronald waddling around and quacking. you could tell he was stressed. poor guy must be so lonely now. *sigh.... today sucks.
