BOOBS! COOL!
David O'Doherty is hilarious and adorable and really funny and lovely. Saw him tonight with pretty much the same show as what he done in Soho at the start of December, only SO many things had changed. Very very very impressed; just over a month ago and seriously lots of new stuff since then. Says he's writing a new show. Got treated to a couple of new songs, or at least, one new one and one that I'd not heard before. A few people left after the first half which he took very well I think, but I don't really know where they were coming from. He's insanely charming and they can't possibly have been offended by anything... Shrug!
Oh oh oh, highlight of the night:
The masking tape "backdrop" that he had in the background was done with great haste, and limited masking tape, so the first D started to come apart during the gig. It said GOD by the end of the first half, and began to say COD at the start of the second half. Eventually, one strip fell down completely leaving "ROD" which everyone but him could see. Eventually, he turned around about 10 minutes afterwards to look at it. He said something about how it probably meant something in Roman numerals, which caused the rest of us to shout "ROD!!" at him and him laugh at himself and insist that he knew the first half of the alphabet really well, he was just a bit rusty on the second half. LOL. Then when he was doing the "finale", telling about his near death experience, he turned his back to the audience as he always does, but suddenly put the mic down and ran to the masking tape, ripping a few bits down until it said "R.I.P." Smooth.
He's definitely one of my favourite comedians and he's so bloody lovely. Had a quick chat afterwards, I've commented him briefly on myspace about how I saw him on Oxford Street a couple of months ago, so just reminded him of that and hopefully told him that he's great, though my memory is shite.
In conclusion, he's lovely and has a great ass and I would like him to be my boyfriend please.
