1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? managed to live a full year alone with no help far, far away from my parents and everything familiar

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? didn't keep them - want to pay off school loans - still planning on it

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? my old friend Danielle, her second baby, a girl

4. Did anyone close to you die? let's skip this one

5. What countries did you visit? only Texas, which is kind of its own country lol

6. What would you like to have had in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? more friends. a secure relationship with one man

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Sept. 11, the day I asked Kev to be my boyfriend

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? just being here, being able to take care of myself. I think that's a hell of an accomplishment.

9. What was your biggest failure? trusting people too much, if you can call that a failure.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I was sick for a week with strepthroat on my birthday

11. What was the best thing you bought? DVDs, my mom's Toyota

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? my little sister got sober and started taking responsibility as a mom :)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? my stepsis Jess turned into a meth head

14. Where did most of your money go? music, gas, fixing my stupid old Cavalier, and partying too much

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? my boyfriend <3

16. What song will always remind you of 2004? there are a lot but I won't know them until down the road and one causes de ja vu ;)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? much happier :D
ii. thinner or fatter? same.. I'll never grow dammit.
iii. richer or poorer? still broke as shit

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? getting to know people better

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? wasting time and energy on asshole men

20. How will you be spending Christmas? with my family in Missouri

22. Did you fall in love in 2004? yes, and with the most wonderful man ever <3 he is "the one".. :)

23. How many one-night stands? oh crap.. that's in the past now

24. What was your favorite TV program? Sex and the City, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Smallville

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? that motherfucker who took off with my clothes/art/guitar, but I am trying to get past it.

26. What was the best book you read? "The Between Boyfriends Book" and "Things You Should Know By Now: A Mini Manual for the Middle Aged"

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Maria Mena, Dashboard Confessional, DRUM AND BASS!!!!!!! (thanks Kev)

28. What did you want and get? a laptop (thank you baby)

29. What did you want and not get? a keyboard

30. What was your favorite film of this year? too many to name

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? turned 24, sat in my apt with a fever and a sore throat. Danielle sent me daisies (my fave) and Lisa brought me a rose. Toby brought me chicken soup :)

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? to have met Kev sooner

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? much less hippy-fied than this time last year without the do-rags and jeans and tees. I've gone back to the classic, sophisticated but basic look I had back in the day. I wear what I feel. Though I do love fashion more than I used to.

34. What kept you sane? really good dro, lol

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Steve Harvey, lol. I love his morning show!!

36. What political issue stirred you the most? rumors about Bush's wants to ban abortion - no one can tell me what to do with MY body

37. Who did you miss? my family in Missouri, Danielle, a few MO friends

38. Who was the best new person you met? Kev, Lisa, Mandy, Angela, Amanda, Tracey - I've made an abundance of amazing girl friends.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE YOU HAVE. Sad, but true. Trust yourself first. Rely on no one. But it is okay to ask for help if you really need it.
