Well, I've started writing again. I've got a pretty good short I'm working on, it's turning out well. I'm going for the brass ring this time. I'm sending it in to The New Yorker. It'll probably get rejected, but I'll never know unless I try. It's called "Coffee On Sixth." It's about the intriguing and sometimes shocking culture found at Denny's at 1AM, seen through the eyes of a nightcrawler. I've taken a few influences from Kerouac on this one, and it's actually something I think I'll be proud of.
I've gotten off the lease at the house. That's a load off my back. Now I'm looking for a place to live. I found a nice studio apartment in Puyallup, about fifteen minutes away from Breann and about fifteen minutes away from my other friends. Plus, church is right down the hill, maybe five blocks away! I hope it's still open when I get out on June 17th.
I've started going to the tuesday night youth service at church. This week was my first time, and I enjoyed myself. After the service, they all go over to the Red Robin down the street and hang out until around midnight. It was fun. I made a couple new friends. But I must say, the disturbing trend of men wearing tight pants and pink shirts has also taken hold in Washington. So those of you responsible for spreading this alarming fad, or are guilty of participating: PLEASE STOP. I was the ONLY (no exaggeration), ONLY GUY there wearing black. Or even beyond that, the only guy wearing ANY non-flourescent shade! Well, not true. Some were wearing pastels. I couldn't even talk to people at the beginning, because they were all scared of my coat! I MEAN, COME ON! IT'S A TRENCHCOAT!! Oh well. No worries. They're nice people once they start talking to you.
Well, I guess that covers it for now. I love you guys.
PS: I've decided to start going to AA. I have a problem, and it's starting to ruin my relationships with the people I love. I've been lying about it and letting it take me over. I don't want to, but I NEED to stop drinking. Pray for me on this.
