An earlier than normal Saturday
I got up at 6:30AM today because I stayed up too late last night and never got to take a shower before retiring. I needed to take a shower first thing this morning because I was scheduled to be at Covert Ford at 8AM to meet Claire. That got cancelled at 6:45AM but I took a shower and stayed up anyway, since Desdemona Pussycat was being purry, furry, prancy and pouncy! What a sweet kitten she is! Also, I needed to get online and check the football scores. Westwood lost by 4 points to powerhouse Lake Travis. TJ beat Hollidaysburg 55-0!! WOW!!! Now for today: PITT is almost ready to take the field against VA Tech. GO PITT!! This evening, beginning at the distressingly late hour of 8:15PM, UT plays Ole Miss, and Matt and Suzanne are there at Ole Miss for the game. Larry is trying to rejuvenate my ipod, which, during an unguarded moment, I drowned in ice water. (!!!!) He finally figured out that the little white wire you use to recharge the ipod is malfunctioning, and told me he would have to go purchase a new one. This dialogue was the result:
Larry: I need to buy another of these before I can go any further.
Me: Use mine.
Larry: You don't have one!
Me: Yes, I do.
Larry: No, you don't!!!
Me: (Goes to top drawer of the antique mahogany bedside table on my side of our bed and get the little white connector, which I hand Larry.) This is it.
Larry: Yeah, ok. (Takes device, walks downstairs with it, without uttering a single word of validation!!)
Me: (Following him with an agenda): Dear?
Larry: (Half at sea in the murky waters of faulty technology): What?
Me: Aren't you going to acknowledge that not only do I have the device as I said I did but I always was able to locate it within seconds?
Larry: Oh...uh...yeah...yes! Good, dear. (Wanders off to employ the device to jumpstart the heart of my ipod.)
