Out there somewhere -- a 5x22 fanmix
i don't do fanmixes often, which is odd because i am all about using music to relate to everything. i think it's the art portion of it; i feel like that's as important as the mix itself, and i am not into making art.
the friday after the finale, i was all @*$(#@% and on the way to work grabbed a "tearjerkers" cd my roommate made me over a year ago. listened, got depressed, realized - it all fit the ep perfectly. i tooled around with it friday night and saturday, adding songs in, taking songs out, etc. while i was out last night, i was listening to my favorite moody blues song, and went, YES. this is how this mix ends. this is how the story ends.
so many moments in this mix that really get to me -- cause this mix really fucking gets to me --
-- "keep me in your heart" is sam's unsent letter to dean Y/Y
-- "in the sun," the repetition of may god's love be with you, always, and also at the end i think that's the song that keeps saying, if i find my way, if i find my way;
-- the end of "could it be any harder," where alex band is yelling i wish you didn't go, i wish you didn't go;
-- "drugs don't work," the repetition of but i know i'll see your face again;
-- ALL OF "STREETS OF PHILADELPHIA" JFCCC EVERY WORD OF IT, OMG;
-- "the story," brandi's voice cracking/exploding on, all of these lines across my face tell you the story of my life;
-- i'm sorry but "somewhere over the rainbow" is beautiful and devastating and sad and i just relate it to dean somehow, his constant obsession with wanting to run away, wanting something better, wanting to drop off the face of the world
-- "I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE / SOMEWHERE YOU CAN HEAR MY VOICE" !!!!
