On Monday I worshiped God through relationships. I was with a few friends and we got into a discussion about body, soul, and spirit, and the ways we differ from animals in those respects. We talked about the definition of communication, and what it means to share feelings, emotions, ideas, and the ability we have as humans to not only survive, but to better the world around us. It was an interesting conversation as we each had different perspectives. The Bible says we have the mind of Christ. We are told to love the Lord with all our mind, as well as all of our heart and soul. So by engaging in challenging and stimulating conversation I was able to worship God by thinking through aspects of his marvelous creation and how he has ordered things to work. We are wonderfully made indeed! Inticritely complex.

I don't know if this fits into a certain 'category', but I believe I worshiped God today through voting. It's the first year I've been able to do so, and while I'm not all up to speed with everything political, I count it a privilege to vote and have a say in our government. I'm clinging to the promise in the Bible that no one has authority that God has not granted to them, and I'm asking for God's kingdom to come and his will to be done, upholding my leaders in prayer.
As I walked back from the polling station I felt led to the Senior's Lodge where an elderly friend of mine resides. I hadn't seen her since the beginning of the semester, so I popped into her room to see if she was there. My visit was a surprise, and I think both of us were blessed. She is so genuinely interested in how my school year is going and took time to pray for me at the end. God rewards obedience! Why should he reward disobedience? It's interesting because I was in a conversation just a few hours ago about being led by the Holy Spirit and hearing from the Lord. I've heard it said that God works in mysterious ways. I suppose he does in the sense that we don't understand a lot of things he does, but at the same time, he invites us to participate in his work! Think about it - the Holy Spirit is inside us. The life we now live is not our own; we live by faith in the Son of God. The whole earth was created by him and for him, and through him everything exists. How awesome it is to be able to partner with God! As the Casting Crowns song goes, "How refreshing to know you don't need me, how amazing to find that you want me..."
