This happened around the same time last year, all these... things repeating themselves. What's going on in the Wilderness is new, though.

Have every single one of those happened before?

From what I can remember? Yes, in some form or another. Nothing seems new, at any rate. [His pen dwells on the page, remembering.]

Last time this happened, doubles of people popped up, and let's just say most of them were hellbent on destruction. I'd keep an eye out if I were you. I can't say whether or not it'll happen again. I hope it doesn't, which means it probably will.

Based on your experience, what should we do if we encounter one of these 'doubles'?

Restrain them, if possible. They disappear same as everything else in this place. If it's not possible... well, people have killed theirs before, mostly in self-defense. That's the last option I want anyone to take, because technically real or not, it doesn't seem right. If it happens again, my men will be on the case.

Did you get one of them?

No. I was mindwiped by Kazahana's double for a time.

Oh, right. Unpleasant business, that.

Yeah, though it seems to be going for longer this year. Last year it was only about two or three days, I think.

I think you're right, yeah. Something bad's in the air.
