Pool surprise

Yesterday, Eric called Christopher to ask me if I wanted to play in his pool team to replace Christopher. I was surprised that he actually wanted me in the team - he had asked me before and I thought he was joking around cuz I seriously suck. But I do have to say that I have improved immensely by watching Chris but I feel I haven't improved enough to actually play in a real tournament. So I decided to do exactly the opposite what my mind had told me - I decided to join the team. This is my chance to do something daring and different - something I should do more often.

Today I went to the pool hall to practice. Chris introduced me to this Roger guy who apparently has taught many professionals. I was surprised that he was actually taking his time to teach me and that he wasn't trying to charge me anything. I really appreciated the advice. I've never learned so much in a lesson. Well in fact I've never really had a pool "lesson." No one has really taught me pool with a mental approach. Whenever Christopher tried to teach me I felt that he was trying to tell me a million things at a time. He has a lot of experience with pool but he plays instinctively, he just knows how to shoot it but can't verbally explain the reasons. I always kind of got frustrated whenever Christopher tries to teach me because he doesn't seem to be patient. So this Roger guy is willing to teach me so next week I'm going to look out for him.

Anyhow, another hurricane - Rita is on the way to hit the Gulf. God...I hope this one is not as bad as hurricane Katrina.
