Well, there is a bunch of god-damn snow out there, and I’m stuck at work. In fact, I think I am going to try to leave once I finish writing this. Anyway, the snow came, and I would estimate we got about 9-11” which was just a joy to brush off my car this morning. Luckily the white-shit tapered off this afternoon, and the car ride home should not be anything my front wheel drive Camry can’t handle. The office is a ghost town, I have only seen about 3 different people walking around this place. Joy and Nate (the other two co-op’s) didn’t come in… so I have been stuck here alone for most of the day. However, I did make valuable use of my time up until this point, finishing up some documentation I have been working on. Since there is no one here to submit it to, I might as well call it an early day.
I watched
Ghost In the Shell the other day. I had ordered it from Netflix. I found this anime film a weird combination of Predator, Terminator, and The Matrix… a scary mix. I enjoyed it, except for the part where the phone kept ringing and I had to sit through the FBI Warning screen a ½ dozen times. I would venture to say that
Ghost In the Shell was one of the most complex and visually stimulating animations I have seen. Anyone who likes complicated sci-fi plots like The Matrix will enjoy this film.
I managed to get some games for my Pocket PC -
Snails (a Pocket PC version of the popular Worms title for the Desktop),
Batty an always entertaining Arcanoid or Alleyway clone, and an interesting attempt at a
FPS for Pocket PC. All are pretty good, though I am anxious to seek out additional titles.
I’m going to see
Shanghai Knights tonight with Andrew and Merissa. For those of you that don’t know that is the sequel to Jackie Chan’s last movie w/ Owen Wilson, appropriately titled
Shanghai Noon. So yea… I will be sure to enjoy that… later!
