Well, the Super Bowl sure was exciting... can you feel my sarcasm? I had easily picked the Raiders to win, so I was really surprised to see the Tampa Bay Blow Out. Regardless, Warren Sapp is still a punk. My Super Bowl experience consisted primarily of pizza consumption and my favorite... commercial viewing, so I won't bore you with the play-by-play.
Although, I have to say I enjoyed this year’s game more than last year. I attribute part of this to the fact that the theme of the night was not 'Sept 11th'. Moreover, because major businesses were less concerned with the economic aftershocks of Sept. 11th, I got to see better advertising. Now don't get me wrong, I by no means endorse 99% of the advertising that injects itself into our lives in the form of SPAM, Banner Ads, and the classic courtesy calls, but I do enjoy Super Bowl commercials for their entertainment value alone. Beyond the Super Soaker I don't think any major advertising campaign has enticed me to buy and specific product. Even though my favorite commercial during this Super Bowl was the one w/ the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Zebra, I still know that Anheuser Busch Beer gives me a stomach ache, and is therefore not worth my drinking dollar. Although, a sick marketing fuck might regard my retelling of the commercial within this journal entry to be increasing product awareness among the Paul Corkery's Live Journal Readership. So with that in mind I ask you to make your beer selection based on personal taste, and not the quality of the Anheuser Busch marketing department.

Long Trail I was disappointed that there were no VW Commercial to be had during this Super Bowl. Although, VW’s most recent, ‘Convertible Bug’ campaign has been extremely well done. Please leave me some feedback on your favorite super bowl commercials in the comments section...
