So I have been working at my new project for a week, and I love it. I spray a highly toxic chemical on the floor, wait five minutes, don my surgical mask then scrap away the crap buildup from the floor. Cough, rinse, repeat. It sounds like hell, but our whole team is loving life. Over the next four weeks, we'll be painting, building, tutoring, and cleaning. We are working at the homeless shelter across the yard from us, so we can go home for lunch or break, but most importantly, we get to play with kids all the time. We got to take a 3 hour break for a snowball fight. During the inauguration, I was busy holding a little girl named Angel and watching 101 Dalmations. I had to give a tour of the AmeriCorps dorms to a group of about 20 teenagers, and as my room was clean I brought them in there. I'd completely forgotten that I'd done laundry and all my underwear was hanging from the ceiling. They all saw, but I pretended it wasn't there and hustled them out as fast as possible. AmeriCorps makes you do things you'd never dream of. A month ago, I nearly staged a bloody revolution against running in the snow - and won. Now I go voluntarily, early morning, dark, whenever. I used to make lists and charts to map out where I needed to be in the future. Five weeks from now, I could be sent anywhere in the US, and I love not knowing.

Most importantly, I saw Emily last night, and it was awesome. I love you babe!
