The last couple weeks had gone by in a bit of a blur for Lauren. Not only were classes heating up and getting crazy due to the fact that she was in NEWT levels, but she'd also been doing a fair amount of stealthiness of the avoiding sort. Which was odd for one Lauren Dispenziere because avoiding people was not something that she was used to. Nor did she like it. In fact, she hated avoiding people. She was one of those direct types who liked to get things out in the open, rather than have awkwardness about which lead to one avoiding another in the first place.
But with this situation, she just didn't know how else to handle it.
Of course avoiding ones professor was rather impossible to begin with, what with having to go to the class every week and all. Lauren wouldn't go as far as to skip the class!! No, not at all. Not this year. She was determined to try to go to all her classes since she didn't want the work load to pile up and make it difficult to catch up! But just because she went to the class didn't mean that she gave her normal type of attention. She made sure to sit in the back and not raise her hand to answer questions or to ask any of her own. If she did have something to say, she'd whisper or pass a note to Andra, nudging her friend to do it for her. It was only fair, after all. She was the one who had given her the advice to cut things off with the teacher in the first place!! Aside from that, she also didn't go out of her way to talk to him. Not that she always did, but Lauren wondered if he noticed something was off.
It was safe to say, though, that all of this avoiding and not being herself was getting to her. She hated feeling like she was hiding. Lauren was not a hider. So it was difficult for her, and she was getting to the point where she was forgetting why she was doing it in the first place!! And perhaps she should talk to him... oh, but that was a little scary! Especially since she didn't know what he was thinking. It was overall just terribly, terribly frustrating.
Currently she was passing through the halls on her way to the library, rather proud of herself for keeping up with this 'good student' business. She'd taken her best friends advice it would seem and was cracking down on things early. Though Operation Immaturity was still in the works, it didn't mean she couldn't get books to read up on, right? Merlin, she was starting to feel like a Ravenclaw... like a nerd... going to the library on a Saturday! Pathetic, Lauren, pathetic.
