Music, in her mind at least, made everything glorious! So for those students who had a hard time with Potions? She was fairly certain that it would have a positive influence on them. And for those, like her, who already enjoyed the subject? It would make it that much better!!! This was all highly exciting for her. She couldn't wait to get the ball rolling with the 'new and improved' Potions classes.

Though she had to laugh when he brought up rules, throwing her head back and leaning against the back of the chair, smiling up at him, "No. We definitely wouldn't want any injuries or burns. That would defeat the whole purpose of having fun, right?" Yes, it would. She tried to hold back any laughter that may have threatened to arise at the image of students dancing and then spilling their potions all over! It was somewhat comical for her.

Had he just... did Professor York seriously just... wiggled?!?

Lauren truly couldn't hold back her laughter. She laughed so hard, that she even snorted. Which may have been embarrassing, but she didn't so much mind. Because he had bloody WIGGLED! In front of her! She had seen it with her own eyes!! It was a priceless, priceless picture that she would hold on to for a very long time. Sad that she hadn't been carrying her camera with her.

"Clearly you are the dancing king. I doubt anyone could compete with you, and I'd hate to see them try but end up failing miserably." Oh gosh, too much funny, "It wouldn't exactly inspire confidence in the classroom, would it?"

"I see that we are clearly on the same page, my dear," he replied, nodding quite seriously despite knowing how God-awful his dancing was. Oh, sure, he could be all swoopy and seductive with a nice, casual waltz... But where in the world would he waltz in his classroom? That was obviously out of the question. So, therefore, he wiggled. And failed at dancing.

"So obviously, no dancing. It will save everyone a lot of heartache, injuries, and bruised egos." He chuckled, then ran a hand through his hair. Had he really just ... done that? That awful, mortifying wiggle? He had, hadn't he... Well, he supposed it was all part of loosening up.

It was really a very good thing that no one else had witnessed such a horrifying sight.

"Ah, and I believe you might ought to head back up to the real world," he added, having checked his watch somewhat (okay, very) reluctantly. "And try and wipe that smile off your face, you aren't supposed to have fun in the dungeons, hmm?" He grinned, then patted the back of his chair lightly as he waited for her to ready herself and head out. They had gotten a lot done, and he was very pleased with how well it had gone.

Stacks everywhere, a bit of tidying, and a few entertaining moments in between. Not a bad free period, not at all.

Hey now, he wasn't that bad! >.>

Okay, so he wasn't exactly stellar either. But Lauren may just have been a little biased because she had thought that, though his little dance moves were funny, they were also incredibly endearing. And adorable? Yeah. That might just be a good word to describe it.

Except it was silly for her to even be thinking that about her teacher so... yes, moving on!

Sigh. Unfortunately with moving on, it meant that she had to come to terms with the fact that yes, it was time to go to her next class. How horrid! She was enjoying herself far too much, despite the work load. The present company made the time fly by and she hadn't even felt as if she were working!

Lauren stood to her feet, running a hand through her blond hair as she looked over at him very serious, "No sign of a smile here! Wouldn't want the dungeons reputation or yours, for that matter, to be ruined. Nope. No one will get that secret out of me." Here she smiled, though her eyes may have held a hint of sadness. She really didn't want to go... and yet her life would continue whether she wanted to stay or not.

She started towards the exit, pausing slightly as she looked back at him over her shoulder, "Goodbye Professor, it's... well, I can't wait to do this again."

Frederick felt a warmth in his chest as he watched her soft smile. It was definitely Not Good, but there was honestly nothing he could have done to stop it -- all instinct, all his body reacting without his mind's permission. Sucked.

"Well," he started, making an effort to ease the tension he felt around himself more so than anything else, "that's good, because there's a lot more to do." He forced himself to smile back, even though he wasn't quite happy at having her leave, either.

At least he'd have classes to distract himself with; that was always good. And then later on, perhaps he would work on more filing so that they wouldn't have as much work to do next time. More organizing and straightening, less boring filing.

He hurried around her and opened the door, holding it politely as he waited for her to exit. Sad to see her go, but knowing deep down that it was for the best. It might have even been for the best to tell her not to worry about coming back -- but there was no way he could do that, no matter how much better things would have been if he did.

He knew well enough to know that the comfort he felt with his student wasn't right, but he was too selfish to care. Besides, it wasn't wrong as long as nothing happened, right? Right.

"Goodbye, Lauren," he finished somewhat softly, regarding her with a warmer and more genuine smile.

Normally she had a good instinct of being able to feel certain vibes from people -- Lauren was very good at observing and noticing little quirks about people that others might miss. However, she didn't notice any tense vibes coming from him. Thankfully.

Though, that probably had to do with the fact that she was a little preoccupied with her own feelings. Or rather, she was preoccupied with trying to ignore and deny any feelings that were trying to rush over her.

Nope. Not gonna happen, she had to force anything other than a platonic respect and admiration for him out of her radar immediately. Not just because he was a Professor and that would be Oh So Scandalous, but also because Lauren didn't do the whole 'mushy feelings' thing.

The sucky part? Was that when he smiled at her like that it was almost impossible for her to ignore feelings!! Ugh! This was LAME and she knew then that it was a Very Good thing that she was leaving.

"See you in class..." She smiled and bit her lip again, giving a small wave goodbye before rushing out the door and toward her next class.

As she walked, Lauren smacked her palm against her forehead, wondering why oh WHY she had had the strongest urge to kiss him on the cheek...

[END! OMG. WHY DO WE ALWAYS HAVE PAIRINGS OF CRACK?? and we're seriously gonna have to do a bff thread now... as Lauren DEFINITELY needs to talk this one through... ♥]
